The Crown & Anchor in the picturesque village of Ham, Berkshire, re-opened its doors in autumn 2019
Closed since 2016 the pub was rescued from property development by two village families, anxious that their community should retain this vital asset. Extensive renovations took place to create a cosy and welcoming bar, friendly restaurant, outdoor terrace and eight comfortable en-suite bedrooms. Serving freshly prepared seasonal British food, an extensive selection of local beers and a selection of good wines.
Hector spearheaded recruitment and mobilised the behind the scenes systems that a hospitality venture needs to operate effectively.
Helping to create the food menus, wine lists and price points. Setting financial budgets and targets. Launching a marketing strategy and ongoing PR campaign.
Six months post opening The Crown & Anchor has become the highlight of this rural community serving local patrons, countryside enthusiasts and those coming from far and wide to visit.
